Summary for the Millwork Operations Manager
The incumbent Millwork Operations Manager Provides day-to-day operation of an Architectural Millwork Operation which includes production, scheduling, shop drawings, shop overview including leadership and guidance to the production workers, estimating, business development, and planning, implementing and coordinating contract work and its timely production.

Responsibilities for the Millwork Operations Manager:
-Mentors foreman and staff.
-Assigns personnel to shop projects
-Clients are satisfied with project results
-Motivates personnel to perform at optimum level
-Monitors job costs, scheduling and quality of work
-Divisions personnel are well-trained, and have high morale
-Champions safety and ensures adherence to all company safety policies
-Develops and continually improves the effectiveness of the division procedures
-Ensures company policies and division procedures are understood and implemented consistently
-Shop and Field Work is safely constructed according to specifications and contract requirements, at a profit.
-Provide detail layout for review by approving parties and convert those layouts to shop detail production drawings.
-Ensures shop personnel have the information, equipment, materials to effectively build projects on time and within budget.
-Coordinates and assists the Sales Manager with operations, sales, purchases, installation, customer warranty follow-up and customer satisfaction.
-Coordinates the flow of information between architects and shop and client/owner to ensures quality products are produced in accordance with AWI (Architectural Woodworking Institute) standards.

Millwork Operations Manager position Requirements:
-Ten years of progressively responsible experience in construction, including estimating, project management, scheduling, shop drawing and cost control and personnel administration
-Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in architectural woodwork construction means and methods, construction management and business administration or related fields.
-Familiar with AWI standards for custom Millwork, Cabinetry, Doors, Windows and Historic Restoration of exterior wood material including facades, doors and windows.
-Ability to read and understand technical and statistical data, interpret construction drawings, architectural drawings and specifications, and legal documents.
-Basic computer skills, knowledge in MS Word, Excel and experience with design programs including AutoCAD.
-Problem analysis and problem resolution; sound judgment.
-Advanced knowledge of the construction millwork industry.
